Sheikha Amna Al Thani
Acting Deputy CEO of Museums, Collections and Heritage Protection, Director of National Museum of Qatar

Amna bint Abdulaziz Al Thani is the Acting Deputy CEO of Museums, Collections and Heritage Protection, as well as the Director of the National Museum of Qatar. Amna leads the museums from macro-level project planning to in-depth operational and strategic planning. She headed the steering committee and the community workshops that culminated in the development of the National Museum of Qatar. Amna has over nine years of experience in museum development.

Amna believes that effective management comprises efficiency in core business functions with an emphasis on human resources development, technology and AI within museums.

Amna earned an MSc in Sociology from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and English from Carnegie Mellon University.

Mr. Mansoor bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud
President of the National Museum of Qatar

Mr. Mansoor is the Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Investment Authority. Prior to that, as the CEO of Qatar Development Bank and the Office Director of Investment Affairs for H.E. the Former Prime Minister, he supervised all investment-related work. He was also CEO of Qatar Museums and Special Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Qatar Museums, H.E. Sheikha Al Mayassa Bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. Prior to that, he was also the Director of Risk Management Department at Qatar Investment Authority.

Qatar Investment Authority is a sovereign wealth fund of Qatar specialized in domestic and foreign investments. It was established by the government of Qatar in 2005 to manage oil and natural gas surpluses. The Authority owns financial assets amounting to more than 335 billion dollars. These properties are distributed among investments and financial reserves in many countries around the world in different continents. Al Mahmoud was also a Board Member in international investment companies, such as Qatar National Bank, Qatari Diar and Hassad Food Company. ​

Qatar Museums Leadership
