From our beginnings as one of the first national museums in the region, the National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ) has continuously embodied the country’s commitment to preserving Qatar’s rich heritage and cultural identity.

This landmark exhibition takes you on a journey through NMoQ’s 50–year history, beginning with when the museum was known as the Qatar National Museum (QNM). It features rare exhibits from that period, which have not been displayed since the closure of the old museum alongside reimagined iconic pieces that highlight the forward-thinking spirit of contemporary local artists.

Through archival photographs, videos, personal stories, foundational documents, and new artistic responses, this 50th anniversary exhibition celebrates not only the past 50 years but also a future that is ever-evolving and that bridges generations, cultures, and ideas.
