Commonly known as the Old Palace, this architectural gem from the early twentieth century is now placed within the contemporary National Museum of Qatar. The contrast between old and new, between heritage and modernity is by no means coincidental; French architect Jean Nouvel’s vision of the museum incorporated the palace, as if it was one of the objects on display.
During the guided tour, visitors will be encouraged to immerse themselves into Qatari history. While learning about the site's development through its different phases, from the residence of the ruler Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim to the new museum, participants will also observe the traditional techniques and forms of Qatari architecture. Additionally, the tour will explore the country’s relationship with its heritage, with a particular focus on conservation efforts.
