Participants will explore the aesthetic richness of Qatari architecture, patterns, and textiles by extracting visual motifs and reinterpreting them into contemporary digital designs. Creations are first crafted by hand, then transformed into digital formats, bridging traditional craftsmanship with modern technology.
The programme culminates in a public gallery display of selected artworks, showcasing how young creatives see the past through modern lenses.
What can participants expect in the programme:
- A 5-minute cultural insight (short talk on a heritage object, eg Sadu patterns).
- A visual prompt or exercise (eg colour exploration, symmetry sketch).
- Sketching & research: Documenting heritage details through drawing and photography.
- Digital workshops: Learning design software and techniques.
- Mentorship circles: Small-group reviews with designers and educators.
- A discussion circle to share progress and inspirations.
