Our school tours range from 60 to 90 minutes long and may be self-guided, guided or virtual.

Self-Guided Tours

Teachers wishing to self-guide their students at the museum can do so with the assistance of our Student Activity Booklets.

Available at the front desk on arrival, these engaging resources enable students to explore the museum displays in small groups or individually.

Booklets have been created for kindergarten, primary and secondary students and cover the following topics: Natural History, Archaeology, Transport & Navigation, Life on Land & Sea, Customs & Celebrations.

Please notify us of your visit in advance so that we can ensure sufficient booklets are made available to meet your needs.

Guided Tours

NMoQ Overview

This 90-minute tour gives students a comprehensive overview of the museum and its stories. Three main topics are explored:

  • The natural history of Qatar
  • The social, cultural and oral histories of Qatar and its people
  • The foundation of modern Qatar and vision for the future

NMoQ Highlights Tour

Prehistoric animals, a gigantic whale shark, ancient forts and glittering pearls are just some of the stops on this 60-minute tour.

NMoQ Green Tour

This 60-minute outdoor tour leads students through the gardens, where they will learn to identify native plants and herbs and understand their use in traditional medicine.

NMoQ Public Art

Explore pattern, shape and texture through art objects that all connect to the stories of NMoQ. This tour lasts 60 minutes and introduces students to the vibrant modern artwork on display at the museum.

Virtual Tours

NMoQ now offers virtual tours, Sunday through Wednesday from 8am to 12 noon. Teachers and students may choose one of four different themed virtual field trips:
