Thematic Guided Tours

Grades: KG, 1-12 and University Students

  • KG Tour

A general guided tour at the National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ).

  • Stories about the People of Qatar

Students will explore the pillars that make up the social fabric of Qatar, with a focus on the individual and collective roles of family, community and leadership in society.

  • Treasures of the Sea

This tour will shed light on the wonders of the sea and its historical significance in the collective memory of the people of Qatar, both as a source of sustenance and income.

  • Celebration of Our Nation

This tour will highlight key moments of social, economic and political transformation in the historical timeline of Qatar that led to the formation of a resilient nation.

  • General Tour for University Students

The guide will take your students on a journey through the entire museum, showcasing the full history of Qatar.

Discovery Programmes

Turtle Mosaic 

Grade: Kindergarten
Turtle Mosaic is a collaborative art activity where students colour pieces of a larger turtle image that are assembled into a complete artwork. It highlights themes of conservation, teamwork, and how individual actions contribute to protecting marine life.

Turtle Symphony Wall: Turtles Are Silent Survivors

Grades: 1-3
By creating a voice through art and sound, students will explore creativity, rhythm, and empathy by transforming turtle-inspired art into sound—building awareness of turtle conservation through music and imagination.

Recycled Bottle Turtle Craft

Grades: 4-6
Transform plastic bottles into sea turtles. The bottom of the bottle will be painted to create fun and colourful patterns, encouraging recycling through a fun and meaningful craft.

In the Shell of a Turtle 

Grades: 7-12
Create an artwork that contrasts a healthy turtle ecosystem depicting the ideal habitat for sea turtles with an unhealthy or degraded ecosystem that is unsuitable for their survival.

Storytelling Programme

Let's explore a world full of fun and learning with the storytelling programme, designed for Kindergarten to Grade 6 students. The programme will be delivered in Arabic and English and will take place in the NMoQ Library.

School Tours

Our school tours range from 60 to 90 minutes long and may be guided or self-guided.

Self-Guided Tour/Treasure Search

In the Self-Guided Tour, teachers take the lead as guides, allowing students to explore the museum at their own pace. To enrich the experience, we also offer Treasure Search—a playful activity where students use an interactive worksheet to discover the museum in a fun and engaging way.

Writing Programme: “50 Stories for 50th Anniversary”

Join our writing competition inspired by NMoQ’s 50th Anniversary Exhibition. Explore Qatar’s heritage, stories, and future and express the spirit of Qatar through your unique creative perspective.
